Academic Cooperation Visit from ASU to Moldova

Aksaray University (ASU) Rector Prof. Dr. Alpay Arıbaş and ASU Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator Prof. Dr. Melayib Bilgin paid a visit to Moldova within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility (ICM) Program.

As part of the visit, Rector Arıbaş and Coordinator Bilgin met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Moldova, Mr. Uygar Mustafa Sertel, at his office. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Moldova and possible opportunities for cooperation in the field of education were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Arıbaş provided information about potential academic collaborations with Moldovan state universities in line with Aksaray University’s internationalization strategies. Ambassador Sertel emphasized the importance Turkey attaches to educational and cultural relations with Moldova and expressed their willingness to support student exchange programs and joint projects in particular.

Academic and Diplomatic Ties to Strengthen

It was stated that the visit would make a significant contribution to strengthening academic, cultural, and diplomatic relations between Turkey and Moldova. This important meeting was recorded as part of Aksaray University’s ongoing efforts to expand its international relations.

Also present at the meeting were ASU Erasmus+ Coordinator Prof. Dr. Melayib Bilgin, Dr. Kudret Safa Gümüş, who is currently serving at the Faculty of National Culture of Komrat State University under the auspices of the Turkish Embassy’s Education Consultancy in Chișinău, and Lecturer Deniz Gümüş.

The visit concluded with mutual expressions of goodwill.
