Aksaray University Rector Prof. Dr. Alpay Arıbaş and Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator Prof. Dr. Melayib Bilgin visited Mr. Tarık Mete, the Moldova Program Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility (ICM) Program.
During the visit, a comprehensive exchange of information was held regarding Moldovan universities, their education system, and ongoing projects. Prof. Dr. Alpay Arıbaş emphasized the significance of TİKA’s contributions to the education sector in Moldova and noted the importance of taking concrete steps to enhance inter-university cooperation. The discussions focused on developing joint projects with Moldovan universities, strengthening student exchange programs, and increasing academic collaboration.
Joint Projects with Moldovan Universities to Be Developed
Mr. Tarık Mete shared information about TİKA’s educational projects in Moldova, highlighting that collaborations with universities make significant contributions to the education of Moldovan youth. He also underlined the need to further deepen the educational ties between the two countries.
At the end of the visit, a mutual agreement was reached to monitor developments in Moldova’s education sector and to cooperate on joint projects. Also present at the meeting were ASU Erasmus+ Coordinator Prof. Dr. Melayib Bilgin, Dr. Kudret Safa Gümüş—who is assigned to the Faculty of National Culture at Komrat State University under the auspices of the Turkish Embassy’s Education Consultancy in Chișinău—and Lecturer Deniz Gümüş.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the “CezeriLab” project implemented by TİKA at Moldova State University and received information from the instructors appointed by TİKA about the educational activities carried out there.
